Geiranger: Sky to Fjord Downhill Biking Adventure

4.Sky to Fjord Downhill Biking Adventure

★★★★★★★★★★4.5 · 23 reviews · 2 hours 30 minutes (approx.) · from $160

Meet at Geirangervegen 10 for a 2.5-hour outing from Djupvatn Lake at 1,030 meters. You receive a bike, helmet, gloves, and visibility vest, then ride 16 km downhill without a guide, stopping at waterfalls, valleys, Knuten, and Flydalsjuvet.

“My husband and I really enjoyed this excursion. He is a well seasoned rider, and me, well not so much! I was unnecessarily worried about my skill level as the ride is an easy coast down hill, and the traffic is very accommodating to riders. The views coming down the mountain were spectacular, and doing the unguided tour gave us time to stop along the way to explore side trails and take lots of pictures. I would 100% recommend this tour.”

Take a one-way boat from Geiranger to Hellesylt through the dramatic Geirangerfjord. The crew aims to pause at Friaren, the Seven Sisters, and Bridal Veil waterfalls, sometimes collecting fresh waterfall water to taste. Expect transport first, guided sightseeing second, with no guaranteed English-speaking guide.

“When you book this, you have to keep in mind that it's really for transportation and not for tourism. The crew was extremely professional and got us where we needed to be, b I'm giving the entire crew, including the captain, 2 thumbs up as they saved an almost ruined vacation. I had Booked the return for the wrong day and time. When they realized it, the captain and crew member actually went into the town and found us to make sure we didn't miss our ride back. Their kindness was much appreciated. And, yes, we got to drink fresh water from Bridal Veil Falls.”

Jonne struck the perfect balance between being knowledgeable and approachable, sharing fascinating stories and local tips without ever feeling scripted or rushed. His friendly, laidback nature made it feel like we were exploring with a mate rather than a guide, and he went out of his way to make sure everyone was comfortable and enjoying themselves. Couldn’t have asked for a better way to discover the area – highly recommend touring with Jonne if you get…”
